What We Do
YouthWorX NT is dedicated to supporting individuals through their journey towards sustainable employment. We offer a suite of transition to work services, pre-employment training programs, and careers expos to meet both individual and community needs.
We generate purposeful engagement for individuals through tailored activities personalised coaching and mentoring, and employment opportunities to help them reach their career goals and outcomes.
Our Advantaged Thinking approach ensures that all of our programs work with individuals to build on their existing skills and talents, strengthening employment and life skills to achieve their employment and learning goals.
Our Transition to Work Service (TtW) provides intensive pre-employment support to improve the work readiness of over 200 Darwin-based young people aged 15 to 24 and to guide them into meaningful work and/or further education. The service provides vocational guidance and a range of skills and capabilities building activities to participants. It also offers a range of real world opportunities such as work tasters, work experience and mentoring in addition to making connections between young people and other community stakeholders who can help them to achieve their goals.
CareerStart Pre-employment Programs in partnership with Charles Darwin University offer participants support during study and the opportunity to gain essential skills to increase their ability to commence and successfully complete an apprenticeship, traineeship and ultimately sustainable employment.
Our Career Launchpad service will provide one-on-one, specialised career coaching and vocational support for young people with disability in their transition from school and into the world of work. The service will provide a cohort of young people with the opportunity to engage in a well-established, specialised youth career service in the safe, supportive environment provided by YouthWorX NT.
Skills, Employment and Careers Expos on behalf of the NT Government delivered throughout the Northern Territory are designed to offer a unique opportunity for anyone interested in starting, changing, re-skilling or upgrading their career and to meet the needs of a diverse range of organisations that are both locally-based and from around Australia.
Career Transition Support Programs in partnership with Don Dale Youth Detention Centre, NT Police, YWCA provide participants with tailored career exploration, goal setting, job search, vocational education and training, pathways to traineeships and work experience.
