WHAT IS
CAREERSTART DIGITAL?
Funded by Google.org, this exciting new pre-employment program will upskill and equip young people with IT skills and knowledge to gain employment in the industry, while being mentored and gaining real world work experience skills with local IT employers!
The program runs for 8 months and there will be three rounds offered.
Round 1 - March 2023 (Completed)
Round 2 - October 2023 (In progress)
Round 3 - June 2024 (Taking applications now)

Program Eligibility
This program is offered to Young People who are:
- aged between 15-24 years old
- living in the Greater Darwin Area
- Neurodiversity for example, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Dyslexia or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
- currently unemployed or leaving school.
How it Works
Filling Skill Shortages
YouthWorX NT has an established and respected history of partnering with local training providers, industry peak bodies and employers to identify skills shortages and difficult to fill occupations in the NT.
If you work in an industry that has identified skills shortages or is finding it hard to fill vacancies, please get in touch to discuss options for a partnership.
Find a career with strong job prospects
The CareerStart program helps individuals to expand their knowledge and manage their own career journey.
Personal mentoring and support are provided during, and extend beyond, program completion until the young person has successfully obtained employment or gone on to further education and/or training.
The program empowers individuals to:
- Make life and career choices
- Increase their learning opportunities
- Build their employability skills
- Secure employment
Ongoing support and assistance
Ongoing support is provided to both the participant and their employee, sometimes financial assistance may be available to the employee for the first six months.
For the participant, YouthWorX NT uses our 4 step success model to identify skills, strengths and opportunities and connects the participants with suitable employment options.
