Aimee’s Story

Purple pathway representing NDIS job opportunities

Aimee came to YouthWorX 18 at the age of 18 after struggling to find work. Lacking support and hesitant after a previous bad experience in the workplace, Aimee was determined to find stable employment but wasn’t sure where or how to start.

Through the Transition to Work program, Aimee was able to build her confidence and improve her social skills by volunteering at Foodbank. During this time, Aimee also increased her job-readiness by obtaining relevant tickets and updating her resume to include her strengths, abilities and experience.

After submitting her new resume, Aimee gained casual employment with the V8 Supercars giving her valued experience in hospitality. From here, Aimee was able to build her connections and quickly secured a permanent job with Aboriginal Bush Traders as a Food and Beverage attendant.
