How it Works
What to Expect
Your very own Youth Development Coach will work with you weekly to develop a plan centred on your goals and needs, while you also get to join small group sessions.
The program will be delivered over four phases:
- Guidance and exploration of strengths and talents
- Preparing you for the workplace
- Explore work opportunities that match your goals and skills
- Ongoing support for your journey
Services Included
While the program will be tailored to your individual needs and goals, some of the services you may expect include:
- Developing Independence workshops
- Travel training
- Industry tours
- Cooking skills
- Budgeting and managing your money
- Workplace norms
- Understanding your workplace rights and responsibilities

Here are some of the answers to questions we are often asked. If you can't find the right answer here, please don't hesitate to call or email.
Career Launchpad is fully funded by the Department of Social Services, so there is no cost to you.
There is no set age bracket. You just need to be a recent school leaver who has finished at least year 10.
The program is available to school leavers from years 10 to 12 who have a diagnosed disability, but are not eligible for NDIS.
The program generally runs for 9-12 months, depending on the start date. It finishes in September of each year.
Once you have the finished the program you will receive a Certificate I in Developing Independence.
The program is designed for people who need help getting ready for work but don’t qualify for NDIS or don’t have an NDIS plan. We will be able to assist you to explore your options.
