Charte joined the 2020 Career start Pre-employment Electrotech program as a 17-year-old who wanted to pursue her dream of becoming an Electrician.
Charte was an engaged and committed student from the very start, and successfully completed the Certificate II in Electrotech including work placements with two different local employers in Darwin. Charte then pursed an electrical apprenticeship and secured one with Shell Prelude. Established in 2015, the `Prelude to the Future program’ aimed to address the skill shortages in Darwin and surrounding areas by providing employment and training for Territorians and a pathway into the oil and gas industry and related service providers.
Charte is extremely grateful for the mentoring and support she received from YouthWorX NT whilst undertaking the program and seeking employment in her industry of choice.
